PE News - Week 10

Well done to our Senior Boys Swimming team who travelled to Abu Dhabi last Saturday to compete in the annual Inter-Choueifat gala. Each boy competed in two individual races and although we did not take away any gold medals our boys did well overall.

Tawfiq Turjaman of grade 9 came in at a time of 51.72 seconds in the 50m backstroke, taking away silver. Eskindir Toralba also came in second in the 50m freestyle in what was a very close finish. Well done to all the students involved.

The month of November will see the senior boys football league get underway. The boys from grades 9, 10 and 11 will battle it out over the coming weeks for a prize they will all certainly be yearning for. At the end of the month the victorious team will be given the opportunity to once again take on the teachers and try to make it two wins in a row for the students. Best of luck to all the boys involved and may the best team win.

This weekend is a busy weekend for our coaches and students. This Saturday Ms. Orla will travel to Abu Dhabi with 8 students for the girls’ u15 Netball tournament. Similarly, Mr. Alex will make the short trip to ISC Dubai to compete in the u14 Football regionals. Both teams have been training well and have added extra lunch time practices over the past few weeks. We wish them all the best this Saturday.

Week 11 will see our after school clubs come to an end. We were overwhelmed with the response from parents and students this term and the clubs proved a huge success. It is clear from our improved results thus far in competitions that these clubs are beneficial. We are hoping to pick up where we left off after the winter break. Letters will once again be distributed and we will do our best to accommodate all students. We are also hoping to add more sports and more sessions. Thank you to all students and parents for your cooperation in term 1.
